  Serving the Superior Community

In addition to providing a great location for our members and the public to enjoy the sport of trapshooting, the Superior Trap & Gun Club serves the local community in many ways, such as:

National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Turkey Pattering Day:  A good time for all new turkey hunters to site in your turkey guns, or if you are a seasoned turkey hunter with a different choke tube or wanting to try out a new turkey load.  This special event is usually scheduled for the first Saturday in April from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Targets are set from 15 yards to 40 yards and different turkey loads are available on a one shell at a time buy.

WITC Wild Game Cooking Class:  To register for Wild Game Cooking classes, contact the WITC Superior Campus.  Classes consist of preparing and cooking wild game from recipes that have been used by many hunters and fisherman from sausage making to wild game care and preservation.  Each student is encouraged to prepare at least one dish and maybe even more.  Everything is prepared from scratch, from grinding the meat or boning it out to cooking and serving.  At 5:00 PM a meal is served featuring all of the students dishes.  Each student is asked to bring a guest to share the prepared meal and immediately following, judging is done by the entire group to determine the best liked dish!

Wisconsin DNR Hunter Education Class:  Classes are held at the Superior Trap & Gun Club around the third week in March through the first week of June on Mondays and Thursdays.  Adults and youths (at least age 11) may attend these classes.  Registration may be made prior to class date.  These classes are for Firearm and Archery certification consisting of hands on training relative to:

  • Firearm Safety
