Call to Order
Jocko Fairchild, President, called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM.
Approval of October 13, 2009 Minutes
A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Jerry Bolin to approve the minutes of the October 13, 2009 meeting. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report
The Treasurer's report was presented &: filed as follows:
Checking & Savings: $13,367.20 -- Junior Shooters: $1,471.86 --
Total Cash on Hand: $14,839.06
Old Business
Winter Trap Help: Doug Vana reported that Ryan Winkler will work the winter season and Eric Winkler has also informed Doug that he is willing to assist if needed during the winter season.
Grounds Clean-Up: Doug Vana also reported that we need to get the grounds cleaned up in preparation for the winter shoot and that there is still some work to get done around the garage area.
Myrt Wester Ticket Winners: Pat Martineau reported that Kirk Krause and Dean Verlennich were the top sellers for the Myrt Wester raffle ticket sales for 2009. Pat will have checks cut for both Kirk and Dean by the next meeting.
New Business
Winter and Summer Schedules: Cindy Gronski distributed copies of the proposed Winter and Summer schedules. It was unanimously decided that the schedules should be published on the website and sent out to the other shooting clubs. Cindy Gronski will also send a notice to the Superior and Duluth newspapers to announce the Winter League Shoot for 2010.
2010 Myrt Wester Shoot: Cindy Gronski proposed that the start of the shoot be changed to 11:00 AM to coincide with other shoots such as the Virginia and Big Lake Shoot. A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Pat Martineau to begin this year’s Myrt Wester Shoot at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Motion carried.
Myrt Wester Raffle Tickets: Myrt Wester Raffle tickets should be available during the Winter Shoot for distribution. Pat Martineau will order the tickets in December.
“Hermie” Control: Cindy Gronski requested that we look into our uninvited guests, otherwise known as “Hermie” and his friends and relatives. Doug Vana noted that he will look into this issue.
Trap Help Pay: Cindy Gronski informed the board that effective July 24, 2009, the minimum wage rate was increased to $7.25 per hour. It was suggested that during the winter season, trap help be paid at a rate of $7.50 per hour instead of the $2.50 per line rate. A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Pat Martineau that winter trap help would be paid at $7.50 per hour and when the summer season begins we would revert back to $2.50 per line. Motion carried.
Food & Refreshments: A brief discussion took place concerning our food and refreshments specifically with regards to what we can stop providing and that we might look into doing things differently such as purchasing individual bags of chips, no peanuts, buying buns on an as needed basis and purchasing our hotdogs, polish and brats from another provider. To discuss this further a kitchen committee will meet on Wednesday, December 2nd at Shamrock Bar and Pizza. Committee members to meet will be Pat Martineau, Jocko Fairchild, Ed Abrahamzon, Doug Vana, Kirk Krause and Cindy Gronski. Committee will meet at 6:30 PM.
2010 Budget: The 2010 budget was reviewed and a change was made relative to Junior Shells to $1,250 and Property Tax increased to $800. A motion was made by Rick Washkuhn and seconded by Doug Vana to accept the 2010 Budget with the above mentioned changes. Motion carried. Jocko Fairchild suggested that when we work on the budge for 2011, and when it is presented to the board that we have more extensive clarification on specific line items.
Heating (Furnace): Following a brief discussion concerning the existing furnace, a motion was made by Ed Abrahamzon and seconded by Jerry Bolin that we have the furnace inspected and serviced. Motion carried.
Adjournment
A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Jerry Bolin to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM.
