Superior Trap &: Gun Club Meeting

Call to Order

Jocko Fairchild, President, called the meeting to order at 6:40 PM.

Approval of May 11, 2010 Minutes

A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Ed Abrahamzon to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report

The Treasurer's report was presented &: filed as follows:

Checking & Savings: $12,329.22  -- Junior Shooters: $966.86  --  

Total Cash on Hand: $13,296.08

 

Jocko Fairchild asked that at our next meeting if we had a budget report showing the upcoming expenses for the remainder of the season.

 

Old Business

Trap Club Camera Purchase:  Kirk Krause reported that he purchased the camera for $224.00 which includes the case, memory card and warranty.

 

Lead Reclamation:  A brief discussion took place regarding the upcoming lead reclamation.  Approximate time of the lead reclamation will hopefully be in late August.  It was suggested that we contact he Volunteer Fire Department who would burn off the field.  Travis Krause knows the contact person.  Some questions evolved concerning the reclamation such as what the split would be or the actual realized from the reclamation and if there was a possibility to purchase the reclaimed shot.  Kirk Krause will contact the person doing the reclamation and report back at the next meeting.

 

Junior Shooters’ BBQ Banquet:  Rick Washkuhn reported that August 21st will be the BBQ Banquet for the Junior Shooters.  The event will take place at the trap club featuring shooting, meal and an awards presentation.

 

Pat Trap Repair:  Doug Vana is still working on trap house 2 working with the company to get the correct equipment.  Trap 3 may need a new cord.

 

Trap Help Issues:  A discussion took place to look into getting flags for each of the traps to alert shooters and the desk when a fill is needed.

 

Meat Auction:  Gained a profit of $44.00 after two weeks of having the meat raffle.  A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Kirk Krause that all proceeds realized from the meat raffles will go to the Junior Shooter’s Fund.  Motion carried.

 

New Business

 

Monday Night Practice Shooting:  The first night for practice shooting on Monday nights will take place on June 21st.

 

Gun Dealers:  A discussion took place regarding having an event where gun dealers would be available during the shooting and shooters could shoot different guns to try them out before purchasing.  Jerry Bolin will look into this further and report back to the board.

 

High School Bleachers:  Doug Vana reported that the bleachers are not available.  The school system felt the bleachers were a liability and destroyed them.

 

Lights on Field 2:  Jerry Bolin will contact Dan Thompson to discuss getting lights on field two and report back at the next meeting.

A motion was made by Doug Vana and seconded by Kirk Krause to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.
